Manufacturing Applications Across the Vehicle

From initial concept mockups to functional, on-car test components, we provide solutions for every stage of automotive development.

Functional Prototypes

Create durable, functional prototypes for fit checks and performance testing. CNC machined metal brackets, 3D printed fluid ducts (SLS Nylon), and engine components.

Interior Components

Produce high-fidelity interior parts like dashboards, console trim, and knobs using multi-axis CNC and textured or painted finishes for aesthetic validation.

Lighting Components

Manufacture optically clear prototypes for headlamps, tail lamps, and light pipes using CNC machining of PC/Acrylic or high-clarity SLA resins.

Under-the-Hood Parts

Machine robust components from production-grade metals like Aluminum and Stainless Steel, or 3D print in heat-resistant materials for demanding applications.

Jigs, Fixtures & Tooling

Quickly create custom jigs and fixtures for assembly or inspection lines using durable 3D printed materials like ABS and Nylon, or sturdy machined aluminum.

Low-Volume Production

Utilize rapid injection molding (bridge tooling) to produce thousands of end-use parts for niche vehicle programs or initial production runs.

Case Study: EV Center Console

An EV startup needed to validate the design of a new center console assembly before committing to production tooling. The assembly consisted of a main structural body, a decorative trim piece, and a flexible cup holder insert.

  • Solution: We used CNC machining for the main ABS structural body, rapid injection molding with a textured finish for the decorative trim, and LSR molding for the flexible cup holder.
  • Result: The client received a complete, fully functional assembly in under 3 weeks. This allowed them to perform fit tests and present a high-fidelity prototype at an investor meeting, securing the next round of funding and accelerating their timeline by two months.

Automotive Prototyping FAQ

Which materials are best for under-the-hood applications?

For parts requiring heat resistance, we recommend high-temperature plastics like PEEK or Ultem (PEI) via machining, or Glass-Filled Nylon via SLS 3D printing. For metal components, Aluminum 6061 is an excellent all-around choice.

Can you produce large parts like bumpers or dashboards?

Yes. For large-scale parts, we typically use CNC machining or large-format 3D printing. If a part exceeds a single machine's build volume, our expert technicians can section the part, manufacture the pieces, and seamlessly bond them into a final assembly.

Do you offer any quality documentation for automotive parts?

Yes, we can provide a range of quality documentation, including material certifications, dimensional inspection reports (CMM), and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports to support your quality assurance and PPAP processes.
